Our Mission & Purpose

Our mission is to connect with unreached and unchurched families, singles, and college students living among us, while also edifying the saints who call RBC home. Our missional model comes from Acts 1:8. This means that while we begin in the Tri-Valley, we already have a vision for reaching in the larger Bay Area, the rest of California, and even to other parts of the world.

Our purpose is to make disciples in the name of Christ Jesus. We believe that real disciples will practice both the Great Commission and the Great Commandment.

Doctrine

We believe in biblical doctrines, for example the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Primary doctrines are defined clearly by scripture, and we adhere to them. Secondary doctrines are less clear and can be influenced by preferences or styles. We do not take a position on issues not clearly defined by scripture. Below is a brief acrostic that loosely summarizes our beliefs and practices. If you have a specific question, contact us!

Christ centered: "So that He himself will come to have first place in everything"

Holy Spirit led: "For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God"

Unified believers: "Standing firm in one spirit with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel."

Relationally based: "Increase and abound for love in one another and for all people just as we also do for you."

Culturally relevant: "I have become all things to all men, so that I may by all means save some."

Honoring God: "Shine before men so that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven."

MEMBERSHIP

What does it mean to be a member of Rock Bible Church? Participating in a faith community is extremely important in the life of a Christian. It is our desire, for those who call RBC home, to submit themselves to the Lordship of Christ within the body of the local church.
