God from Luke’s Eyes to Yours
“He Visits in Person” (Palm Sunday) | March 29, 2026
“Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!
Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” — Luke 19:38
On Palm Sunday, Jesus doesn’t send a message—He shows up in person. Riding into Jerusalem as the promised King, He is celebrated by crowds, weeps over the city, cleanses the temple, and teaches daily. Pastor Scott reminded us that when Jesus visits, He doesn’t come casually—He comes with purpose: to teach truth, to cleanse what’s broken, and to bring real hope. The question is not whether Jesus shows up—but how we respond when He does.
To Teach
v 44, 47–48 → into Luke 20–21
- Jesus consistently teaches truth to those willing to listen.
- The crowds leaned in because His words carried authority and life.
- His teaching doesn’t just inform—it reveals what matters most.
To Clean House
v 45–46, 41–44
- Jesus confronts what doesn’t belong—externally and internally.
- The temple was meant for prayer but had become distracted and misused.
- His cleansing flows from deep love and righteous grief.
To Bring Hope
v 30, 38, 40
- Jesus fulfills prophecy as the promised King:
- Book of Zechariah 9:9
- Book of Psalms 118:26
- Book of Habakkuk 2:11
- Even creation itself points to His arrival.
- Hope is not abstract—it is a Person who has come near.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
- Jesus comes personally—not distantly—into our lives.
- His truth invites us to listen and respond.
- His presence exposes what needs to be cleansed.
- His fulfillment of Scripture confirms He is the promised King.
- Real hope is found in recognizing and receiving Jesus.
